Key Responsibilities:

- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for elderly patients with psychiatric conditions

- Monitor patients’ mental and physical health status, documenting changes and progress

- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safety and compliance

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists to develop comprehensive care plans

- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families

- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations

- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for geriatric patients with mental health needs


Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice

- Prior experience in psychiatric nursing, geriatric care, or mental health settings preferred

- Strong understanding of mental health disorders common in elderly populations

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and observational skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team and handle sensitive situations with compassion

- Knowledge of medication management and safety protocols

- Commitment to patient advocacy and ethical nursing practices
