About this position

SUMMARY

The branch manager's responsibilities include obtaining new business development by meeting with prospective and current residential and commercial customers, developing and attainting sales goals, delivering exceptional customer service, and managing the resources and staff of the branch. The focus of this opportunity will be to work closely with the Director of Operations and Sales Manager to grow the business and revenue of the branch.  

 

DUTIES 

  • Perform cold calling and new business development
  • Follow up with all leads and ensure all communications (personal, electronic, voice and written) support and build the brand
  • Understand the competitive landscape and work with the marketing department to support business development in the region
  • Sales management of inside and outside sales efforts, participate as brand ambassador at community events, and coordinate with preferred vendors
  • Oversight of the Sales Center Operations including support of corporate operation procedures, working with operation managers and buyers to determine stock items and inventory targets, manage non-performing inventory, ensure compliance with all safety and governmental regulations, provide proper facilities management
  • Work directly with marketing and sales teams to develop strategies for increased traffic in the store
  • Work directly with dealers to stay informed of new product offerings and changes for customer service efforts
  • Resolves product or services issues by clarifying customer complaints and determining and implementing the best solution 
  • Follow up and expedite customer issues to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Maintain location property and product inventory
  • Financial and/or operational management of the Sales and Service Center 
  • Assign and schedule work for Service Technicians and assist in management of delivery drivers 
  • Hire, train, direct, and manage all sales and service center personnel 
  • Accounts Receivable management including credit management, collections, and cash management
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial leadership to grow the business through increased customer and market development
  • Fill propane tanks at the filling station for walk-in customers
  • Participate in managerial on-call rotation
  • Other managerial duties as needed

 

KEY CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong sales aptitude and the ability to lead, coach, and mentor a location customer service/sales staff.
  • Previous sales and customer service experience
  • Demonstrated vendor management
  • Previous experience with inventory management
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with employee, customers and vendors 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with data analysis and reporting
  • Strong work ethic, persistent, and dependable
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude

 

KEY CANDIDATE SKILLS

  • A minimum of 5 years in a Leadership role with profit and loss responsibility in a service industry.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to obtain CDL Class B within 6 months of employment through Foster Fuels CDL program.
