About the Role:
This position is based out of the Camden Fire Station as a part of a shared staffing model. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing basic and advanced life support during emergency 911 calls. Your primary responsibility will be to assess patients' conditions, administer appropriate treatments, and transport them safely to medical facilities. You will work closely with nurses, doctors, and other medical staff to ensure a coordinated response to medical emergencies. Pay rate starts at $30 per hour with no prior experience, night and weekend differentials with a rotating schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current state certification as a Paramedic.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Current BLS, ACLS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a pre-hospital emergency medical setting.
- Additional certifications such as ICS100, ICS700, and Mandated Reporter.
- Advanced certifications in areas such as PALS, or PHTLS.
- AVOC/EVOC - within 6 months of start date.
- PIFT (Paramedic Interfacility Transfer) Certification - will obtain upon hire.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments to determine the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and other emergency treatments as necessary in accordance to Maine State Regulations.
- Collaborate with other emergency responders, nurses, doctors, and hospital staff to coordinate care.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate records of treatments provided during emergencies.
