Schedule: Thursday through Saturday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with overtime every other Sunday when scheduled
General Job Description
The Production Shift Lead is responsible for the efficient operation of the production process—from raw materials to finished product—while assisting in troubleshooting, team leadership, and quality control. This role ensures productivity, safety, and quality standards are consistently met during the assigned shift.

Principal Functions of the Job
Conduct daily shift meetings to assign tasks, review performance, communicate goals, and deliver required training
Understand and execute the production schedule to optimize labor and resources
Assist the Operations and Plant Managers in motivating, training, and coordinating team members
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of team roles and step in when needed to maintain productivity and accountability
Prepare for startup and shutdown of kettles; operate and monitor the frying process
Monitor oil levels and quality; change oil as needed
Set up and adjust slicer heads
Coordinate kettle operations with prep and packing areas
Inspect and handle raw product, sort and peel potatoes, remove defects and foreign material
Maintain hopper levels for kettle operations
Safely operate skid loader/Bobcat to move and unload raw potatoes
Understand and operate the conveyor and powered equipment safely and effectively
Set up packaging machines to meet schedule requirements
Ensure packaging processes meet standards: weight, seasoning, sealing, splicing, and date coding
Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to safety, food safety, and GMP guidelines
Remove plant waste regularly and maintain clean, organized work areas
Document all required information accurately and in a timely manner
Alert management of any equipment issues or product quality concerns
Comprehensive Expectations
Adhere to all GMPs, food safety regulations, and company policies
Ensure high-quality and food-safe products from raw material through final packaging
Promote and enforce safety procedures including fire extinguisher (ABC/K) and suppression system protocols
Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and teamwork
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Prior experience in food manufacturing or production strongly preferred
Strong leadership and team coordination skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and safety regulations
Attention to detail and strong commitment to quality
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a food production environment with exposure to noise and heat
