Job Summary 

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the work of technical employees during general maintenance and routine upkeep of the company’s facilities and production equipment. 


Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities in the facilities including analyzing equipment needs, reliability issues, developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Monitor Technician daily productivity by prioritizing and distributing work to maximize labor efficiency.
  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality.
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
  • Coach, mentor, train and develop maintenance employees to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Manage the maintenance expenses by ensuring best practices in the industry.
  • Build and maintain long-term vendor relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Track project and job costs by individual, based on hours worked, through the Upkeep management system to ensure accurate allocation to each department and project.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
  • Must be available to work weekends during the months of September and October to ensure success of our “busy season”
Requirements:

  

Education, Skills & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Vocational/Technical or certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical components. plumbing, pipefitting, HVAC
  • Willing to work 50+ hours per week, including Saturdays
  • Specialized training in the repair and replacement of components
  • Proficiency in the use of shop tools required
  • A valid drivers license is required
  • Basic computer skills preferred for data entry into maintenance systems.
  • Ability and willingness to work in excessive heat or cold weather
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to move frequently, stand for long periods, walk, use hands and legs.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
