Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1921, is an independent coeducational school, serving almost 600 students from age 2 yrs. through 8th Grade on two campuses. The Lower School, in West Palm Beach, serves ages 2 yrs. through 3rd Grade. The Upper School, located on the island of Palm Beach, serves 4th through 8th grades. The Upper School is currently seeking a Learning Specialist for the 2026-27 school year. Applicants should enjoy working in a collaborative, student-centered environment and be skilled in providing learning support for students in Grades 4-8 through the direct instruction of learning strategies and study skills in individual and small group settings.


In addition, a successful candidate will:


· Oversee the creation of individual learning plans

· Facilitate classroom and testing accommodations

· Serve as a resource for the faculty

· Be familiar with educational-psychological/ neuropsychological testing results analysis and the creation of individual learning plans for students. 

· Possess strong classroom management skills to create and maintain a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment. 

· Participate in additional duties during the academic day ranging from advising students to actively participating in faculty meetings and professional development. 

· Possess strong organization skills

· Possess attention to detail

· Possess excellent written and verbal skills

· Possess the ability to collaborate professionally with colleagues and parents

Requirements:

  Job Requirements:


· Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field

· Master's Degree Preferred

· Special training such as Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner 

or Orton-Gillingham Instructor (Classroom Educator or Certified Level) is a plus

· minimum of 3 years’ experience as a learning specialist or related field
