Seeking a Commercial HVAC Technician with Chiller experience.


The primary function of the HVAC/ Chiller Technician is to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by taking ownership and provide accurate and timely service, repair, and replacement of all types of Chilled Water equipment in the commercial/industrial HVAC market.


Works under minimal supervision.


This position reports to the Director of Chilled Water Operations/Chilled Water Service Manager.


Compensation: $40-$55/hr. (Overtime Available) - DOE


HVAC/ Chiller Technician Responsibilities:

  • Capable of performing tear downs on centrifugal chillers preferred
  • Experience servicing Artic Cool, Carrier, Daikin, Smardt, Trane, and York, Air Cooled and Water-Cooled chillers preferred
  • HVAC/ Chiller Technician reports for duty on time, ready to work at an assigned work location, on a daily basis.
  • HVAC/ Chiller Technician accurately and timely responds to company processes for receiving and fulfilling service requests.
  • Follows APS's process of submitting reports and data for invoicing daily.
  • Safely and effectively uses tools and equipment wearing proper PPE.
  • Perform assigned tasks from management regarding maintaining, servicing, repairing or installing Chillers and related HVAC equipment.
  • Accurately troubleshoot and diagnoses problems with Chillers and related HVAC equipment to determine the best repair and replacement strategy.
  • Works effectively alone and with a team to complete repairs timely and safely with no errors or defects.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and management regarding job status and strategy for repair or requirement of Chiller and related HVAC equipment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients or facilities managers on the operation and maintenance of chiller systems, including troubleshooting advice and recommendations for system improvements.
  • HVAC/ Chiller Technician works safely and effectively with all equipment parts; requests assistance when needed for handling heavy equipment effectively and safely.
  • Accurately and consistently checks work for errors and defects; technician accurately corrects errors and deficiencies.
  • Maintains technical knowledge of various Chillers and related HVAC equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly company provided vehicle.
  • Maintains a clean driving record.
Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience with performing PM's, annuals, and service of centrifugal chillers.
  • 5+ years of experience servicing Air and Water-Cooled Chillers and other related Chilled Water Equipment.
  • Factory Chiller Training Certifications a plus.
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with certificate in Heatin, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required.
