OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
The HACCP Coordinator will be the eyes and ears for the Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance at the plant level for everything related to Food Safety, Quality and Food Defense. This individual should be highly motivated, an independent critical thinker, and a team player who has a passion for quality, food safety, and food defense.
This individual will oversee Pre-Operational and Operational procedures, charts, and monitoring logs all in accordance with the plant’s SSOP and HACCP Plans. This individual will communicate effectively and efficiently with the Plant Manager and the Director of Food Safety-Quality Assurance about any problems in the plant.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect all outbound packaging and boxes to ensure all labeling requirements are met
Oversee Pre-Operational forms
Oversee Operational forms
Coordinate with production to ensure testing is being conducted promptly and efficiently
Implement & Monitor Employee Sanitation Procedures & Records
Monitor All Daily Logs & Records
Make sure all documents are recorded at the end of the day
Correct and Train Sanitation Crew on any and all deficiencies in the cleaning process noticed by the Inspector or Internal Pre Operational Inspection
Maintain a Professional USDA Relationship
Help with any Food Safety and Humane Handling Audits
Attend all weekly meetings with IPP
Communicate any food safety and/or quality issues promptly with the Plant Manager and the FSQA Director
Provide input on answers (Corrective and Preventative Measures) to NRs
Manage all third party audits and pre-audits, including but not limited to GAP, SQF, BrC, and any FSAs
Perform regular quality checks of all products
Ensure proper staffing requirements for department are obtained
Attend all staff and department meetings
Assist plant manager with clerical duties including but not limited to invoicing, customer service calls, and ordering ingredients and supplies
Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge of humane animal handling processes, animal slaughter, processing, packaging and value addition activities up to and including RTE

Organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills

SQF experience or training and the ability and drive to rapidly own an SQF system
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
HACCP Certified or the ability to become HACCP Certified
Experience in Food Production/Processing (including an RTE environment)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (prolonged periods of standing, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, lift 20 pounds)

Compensation: $15.00-22.00 per hour depending upon experience. Opportunity for a pay increase based on performance at 90 day evaluation. We believe in rewarding a job well done. Experience is preferred but not necessary. On the job training is provided.
