WHEDA is seeking a Systems Coordinator to join our IT team in our Madison office. The position of Systems Coordinator is responsible for second tier support in maintaining, troubleshooting and problem solving for all Server, Network, Desktop and Telephone Systems.

SALARY: Hiring Range for this position is from $60,264- $74,054 Annually. Offered Salary will be based on qualifications. WHEDA provides a competitive salary and WHEDA employees participate in the State of Wisconsin benefit package which includes retirement, health insurance and deferred compensation programs.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Network/Server, Desktop and Telephone environment. Provides secondary support to the Server, Network and Desktop Administrators, in troubleshooting and meeting business unit needs.
  • Provides hardware and software problem resolution related to networks, servers, printers, telecommunications, and operating systems. Serves as back-up or next level support (beyond Help Desk) and determines when additional and higher level of support is required.
  • Performs system administration activities for applicable systems and data. Including setting up user security, applicable system, and security patching, maintaining, and monitoring data integrity, integrating assigned applications with other applications and systems, maintaining contracts with outside vendors, and defining reporting and alerting requirements. 
  • Trains internal staff and customers on the use of systems, following approved WHEDA security standards, policies, and guidelines, and assisting with configuration of systems.
  • Implements necessary changes to systems, applications, and information as requested in accordance with IT security policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Assists with project management activities, including research and development regarding certain technologies; may test, analyze, and make recommendations based on findings.
  • Recommends hardware and software configurations or enhancements to ensure optimum performance and capability of networks, servers, and desktops to meet user needs; ensuring system configurations conforms to Authority standards. 
  • Performs or assists with other organization needs as requested or required.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field AND 2 years of experience in troubleshooting and maintaining computer systems and networks; OR equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Valid Driver’s License

 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Computer environment, testing, and system administration 
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of voice, data, and video equipment
  • Working knowledge with computer platforms and applicable operating system functionality
  • Strong adherence to confidentiality in working with clients and vendors
  • Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically to train and provide technical documentation as needed 
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Successful prioritizing and management of work projects
