Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

  • Assists with data collection and documentation.
  • Assists with patient basic care and comfort measures.
  • Performs activities of patient nutrition including feeding orally or tube feedings.
  • Performs all activities in a manner appropriate for patient’s age and physical condition.
  • May assist with special procedures and perform other department specific skills not requiring licensure under the supervision of a licensed Nursing personnel.
  • Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves them in the formation of the plan of care. Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patient and family.
  • Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments. Attempts to problem solve when appropriate.
  • Documentation meets current standards and policies.
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to be flexible.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Operates and maintains equipment safely and correctly.
Requirements:

Professional Requirements:

  • Adheres to dress code: appearance is neat and clean.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of emergency policies. Participates in drills.
  • Reports to work (and Clinical Conferences) on time and as scheduled. Completes work within designated time.
  • Wears identification while on duty. Uses computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Attends weekly Nurse Intern Clinical Conferences. 
  • Attends in-services and completes documentation as required.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings.
  • Utilizes Standard Precautions and proper techniques in handling chemical agents. Reports environmental hazards.
  • Exhibits the JCMH “Standards of Performance” at all times.

Education/Regulatory Requirements & Experience:

  • Successfully completed first two semesters of Nursing School RN Program.
  • Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.

Skills:

  • Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
