Position: Senior Staff Accountant
Salary: $80,000 - 85,000 (DOE)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to play a key role in supporting the accounting operations of a growing multi-unit restaurant company with plans for continued expansion. This role heavily focuses on Accounts Payable oversight and is essential in ensuring the smooth operations of our financial processes - from invoice processing to vendor payments - while maintaining expense accuracy and strong internal controls.
The Senior Staff Accountant will manage all aspects of the accounts payable function, including vendor management, high-volume invoice processing, and payment execution, while also supporting month-end close and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and brings strong accounting and AP experience, along with familiarity with the fast-paced demands of the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (Primary Focus)
- Oversee full cycle accounts payable across all entities
- Review, code and process high-volume vendor invoices accurately
- Ensure proper expense allocation by location and department
- Manage weekly payment runs (ACH, Checks, Wires)
- Maintain vendor files, W-9`s and insurance certificates
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor AP aging and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Assist with 1099 preparation, and year-end reporting
- Support implementations and improvement of AP systems and workflows
General Accounting and Close Support
- Prepare journal entries and accruals related to AP and expenses
- Assist with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
- Reconcile credit cards and intercompany transactions
- Support audit requests and documentation preparation
Restaurant and Production Accounting Support
- Ensure accurate expense coding for food, beverage and operating supplies
- Assist with inventory and COGS`s analysis
- Support cost allocations between production facility and restaurants
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor`s Degree in accounting or finance or 4 + years of relevant accounting experience required (Restaurant or Hospitality experience a bonus)
- Experience in a multi-entity or multi-location environment
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Peachtree or Similar Systems)
- Familiarity with restaurant inventory systems and food cost tracking
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Knowledge of state and federal tax regulations affecting vendor payment
- Advanced excel skills preferred
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills preferred
