How You’ll Make an Impact 

This role is responsible for ensuring mill production team is actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and production schedule. The CNC Mill Lead provides effective training to the team and ensures safety and quality standards are always maintained.

  

What you’ll be doing as a Mill Machinist Lead (5-Axis):

  • Working a Full-time, onsite position at our Fife, WA location.
  • Work with Manager and other team leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met.
  • Execute and coordinate employee training to ensure that procedures are followed and met all quality requirements.
  • Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the manufacturing floor.
  • Report problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Production Manager.
  • Work closely with support staff such as Manufacturing Engineering, Program Managers, Materials/Warehouse to resolve issues.
  • Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 6S activities.
  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution and consultation with Production Manager and HR.
  • Meet department and personal expectations for productivity, quality, and strive for continuous improvement.
  • Follow guidelines for work scheduling and understand delivery objectives.
  • Report any machine or process problems or variances to Process Improvement Coordinator/Production Manager.
  • Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of equipment and procedures.
  • Good work ethic and maintains good attendance. (Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

  • Five years’ experience in the manufacturing industry with knowledge of speeds and feeds and one year of lead or other leadership experience.
  • Previous Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials, and processes.
  • Experience with MS applications. 
  • Strong aptitude in math and blueprint ready.
  • Must be able to qualify simple parts using a variety of inspection equipment.

Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills, and experience):

  • Have 5-Axis CNC Mill Machining Experience.
  • Communicate pertinent information well with others and is a company team player.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks, running several machines simultaneously.
  • History of good work standards, good quality, and team participation.
  • Competent in the operation and performance of multiple machining tools.
  • Works independently, follows instructions, can concentrate for long periods of time

Work Environment: 

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

The Mill Machinist Lead (5-Axis) Compensation range for onsite Washington applicants is $35/hr - $50/hr with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
