About this position

Summary

Coordinate with engineering, purchasing and project leader groups for solving quality issues and launch/engineering changes of components. Also perform audits and implement new strategies

 

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement procedure for evaluating compliance to customer specifications and requirements.
  • Develop and implement procedures and work instructions to select and evaluate suppliers.
  • Develop and implement measurement and validation system for key supplier performance.
  • Responsible for implementing corrective actions for suppliers' issue (internal, external and warranty).
  • Implement top 3 worse supplier strategy.
  • Proactively reducing variation and eliminating defects using tools such as Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
  • Administrate RMA’s for supplier issues.
  • Administrate Supplier PPAP for engineering change, tool moves, tier III supplier changes, etc.
  • Perform Early Containment for each Supplier PPPA.
  • Perform Supplier Audits.
  • Participate VA/VE cost reduction workshops with engineering and purchasing.
  • Maintain Transys established KPI goals.
  • Follow requirements of Quality policies and standards, such as,  ISO 9001, TS16949, IATF16949
  • Adhere to 5S to keep work site clean and orderly consistently improving appearance of the team’s area. Active in following 5s—Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain organization of work area.
  • Collaborate with Team Members, Team Leaders, Group Leaders and/or other members of Hyundai Transys to be active contributors to the team.
  • Attend all required training as assigned.
  • Comply with and promote company practices and policies in all areas including Safety, Standards of Conduct, Quality, Performance, and Communication.
  • Be flexible in work to support continuous improvement activities that will ensure personal and company growth.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Education Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience

 

Working Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the area of welding and frame assembly
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods

 

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proven experience with Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis
  • Successfully apply Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis
  • Concrete understanding and application of fundamentals of GD&T
  • Knowledge and understanding Six Sigma principles
  • Proven proficiency of geometric dimensioning and tolerances 
  • Full working knowledge of APQP process, flowcharts, work instructions, and control plans
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 or ISO/QS 9000 preferred
  • Must be a team player and work well with others in process development, corrective action and problem solving
  • Excellent statistical analysis ability
  • Ability to have a strong focus and adherence to compliance targets
  • Proven experience with complex data and problem analysis, root cause techniques, and solution
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills, with an emphasis on being proactive
  • Ability to interact positively with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and levels with company/customers
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of employee/customer
  • Must be proficient using MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint; SAP experience a plus

  • Required to use close vision, peripheral vision, focus and see colors as required to read equipment and material labels, color-coded inventory, computer terminal screens, etc.
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Ability to travel domestic US and/or international if needed

 

The employee generally works in warehouse and indoor office environments but occasionally works outside, in all types of weather and on uneven terrain.
