Job Summary
The Seasonal Campus Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of campus grounds during the spring and summer months. This position performs routine landscaping and grounds maintenance to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, students, and visitors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform routine lawn care including mowing, trimming, edging, and watering
Plant, maintain, and care for flowers, shrubs, and landscaped areas
Remove weeds, debris, and litter from grounds and walkways
Maintain sidewalks, parking areas, and outdoor common spaces
Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, and blowers
Assist with outdoor set-up for campus events as needed
Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisor
Follow all safety procedures and campus policies
Qualifications
Ability to operate basic landscaping equipment safely
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Physically able to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Must be 18 years old
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling
Ability to work outdoors in spring and summer weather conditions
Work Schedule
Seasonal position during spring and summer months
Hours and schedule determined by operational needs
