The Role
The Cleaner Lead is responsible for overseeing assigned work team(s) and/or service areas, ensuring all work is performed to company quality standards and in accordance with the client’s Statement of Work.
This position supports supervisors in maintaining operational excellence, training new associates, promoting safety, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Oversee assigned team(s) and work areas to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with site-specific procedures
Assist with onboarding and training new associates on:
Safety programs
Company policies and procedures
Proper cleaning processes and equipment usage
Inspect work during and after completion to verify compliance with scope of work, schedules, and quality standards
Ensure restroom, clean room, and other logged areas are completed properly and initialed by assigned associates
Promote safety as a culture and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Perform custodial duties in accordance with established cleaning procedures
Assist supervisors in motivating staff and fostering a positive, professional work environment
Identify and report custodial or operational issues to management
Monitor inventory and distribute supplies to ensure efficient and cost-effective use
Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report maintenance needs in a timely manner
May drive a company vehicle to transport supplies or travel between job sites (if applicable)
What It Takes To Be Successful
Minimum 2 years of custodial cleaning experience in a lead role, or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, safety practices, and quality standards
Proficient verbal and written communication skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Strong time management and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities
Ability to work independently and lead by example
Certification: May require specialized training in Cleanroom, Electro Static Discharge (ESD) and other
specialty service policies and procedures and certification in specialized equipment.
Environment: Will vary considerably depending upon the clients business that can range from heavy industrial environments (aerospace, factories, refineries, etc.) to office complexes. Long periods of walking, standing, sitting and lifting. Weather changes based on the geography and time of year.
