Monitor/Nurse Tech
A nursing technician who, under the supervision of the RN, is able to recognize, record and report cardiac arrhythmias that are noted. He/she will also act as a receptionist to answer phones and intercoms, relay messages, assist with filling out nursing records and requisitions and prepare various reports. Also, maintains supplies and equipment and provides assistance with the care of patients. Performs other duties as required on the patient unit. The patient population primarily served is usually adults aged 18 to geriatric, but may include infants, and children to age 17.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certificate Program
License, Certificates, Etc:
CNA, CMA, EMT, Health Care/Patient Care/Medical Assisting Program or completed and passed the first semester of RN program
BLS
Non-violent Crisis Training within 6 months of employment
Basic Dysrhythmia Interpretation within 1 year of employment
Experience:
Minimum
CNA, CMA, EMT certificate
Preferred
At least one year experience
