We are seeking a passionate and reliable Baker to join our artisan bakery team. In this role, you will support the production of handcrafted, high-quality breads and baked goods using traditional techniques and premium ingredients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and baking of artisan breads, pastries, and seasonal specialties.
  • Scale, mix, shape, and proof doughs according to established formulas and schedules.
  • Operate and maintain baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers.
  • Follow fermentation timelines and dough-handling techniques essential to artisan baking.
  • Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, food-safe work environment.
  • Assist with ingredient prep, mise en place, and end-of-day cleaning.
  • Help with packing and labeling of baked goods for retail and wholesale.
  • Uphold the bakery’s quality standards and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Comply with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, time and resource management, and planning skills.
  • Attention to detail, especially when performing quality inspections on ingredients and products.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Willingness to work independently or with other team members to solve problems, plan schedules, fulfill orders, and create baked goods.
  • Flexibility to various hours and shifts to meet the needs of the bakery, including early morning, night, weekend, and holiday availability.
  • Ability to work in a hot, hectic environment; stand, walk, bend, use hands and appliances; and lift heavy items for extended periods.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior baking experience in a restaurant, café setting.
  • More education or experience may be preferred.
