As a Water Safety Instructor at the Whitin Community Center you will be responsible for teaching various American Red Cross Instructional Swim Programs.
If an employment offer is made we and you already have Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certifications we will train for WSI!

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle swim instructor duties for programs that fall within his/her schedule.
- Maintain discipline and general safety practices over all people in the pool area while on duty.
- Be responsible for all course records in accordance with the classes he/she teaches.
- Handle lifeguard responsibilities that fall within his/her schedule.
- Responsible for the hours that he/she is contracted for.
- All WSI staff must test the pool daily and record in the log. Report any problems or variations.
- Bring to the attention of the Aquatics Director or Swim Director any problems, complaints or suggestions that pertain to the operation of the aquatic programs.
- Maintain current certifications for WSI, Lifeguarding Today, First Aid and CPR for the professional Rescuer certification with the American Red Cross.
- The last WSI/WSI aides on duty should make sure all doors are closed (balcony, locker room and deck doors), equipment is stored away and all people are out of the pool area.
- Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the pool areas.
- Report to work on time in uniform and having whistle & rescue breathing mask with them for their shift.
- Adhere to WCC Core Competencies and Employee Manual.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications are prerequisites for this position. Will train if already have Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certifications!
