Recreation Therapist

Are you passionate about using recreation and creative activities to help individuals on their path to recovery?

Were seeking a Recreation Therapist to design, lead, and evaluate therapeutic recreation programs that support individuals living with mental illness. In this role, youll conduct assessments, implement individualized activity plans, and facilitate engaging group sessions that build skills, enhance well-being, and foster meaningful participation.

What Youll Do

• Plan and facilitate daily therapeutic recreation and recovery groups to encourage participation and promote positive outcomes.
• Design and implement individualized activity plans, while mentoring other employees to support their execution.
• Create dynamic, stimulating group experiences and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Assess and reassess individual strengths, needs, and progress toward treatment goals.
• Complete recreation and therapeutic activity assessments and oversee employees performing related services.
• Document services thoroughly, accurately, and in accordance with professional, facility, and departmental standards.
• Provide age-appropriate and developmentally sensitive care tailored to each individual served.

What Were Looking For

Education & Training

• Bachelors degree (required)

Experience

• Experience with mental health or similar populations (preferred)

Licenses/Certifications

• Certification as a Recreation Therapist or ability to become certified (required)
