In our rural clinic, the NP serves as the primary clinical lead for an underserved community. This role requires a versatile provider capable of managing chronic conditions, acute illness, and the complex needs of patients with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities (IDD).

• Comprehensive Primary Care: Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare for patients across the lifespan                       

• Specialized Disability Management: Develop and oversee individualized care plans for patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disabilities, and physical impairments.
• Behavioral Health & Neurodiversity: Conduct mental health screenings tailored for non-verbal or neurodivergent patients; manage comorbidities such as epilepsy or metabolic issues common in the IDD population.
• Transition & Advocacy: Lead the transition of care for adolescents with special needs into adult medicine and navigate legalities involving supported decision-making and medical power of attorney.
• Rural Emergency Care: Stabilize urgent cases and coordinate transfers when necessary.

Qualifications:
• Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (MSN/DNP) with Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.
• Active State NP License and DEA registration.

Required Skills:
• Proficiency in "Plain Language" communication and adaptive clinical techniques.

Preferred:
• Prior experience in IDD healthcare or psychiatric-mental health.
