POSITION SUMMARY
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of operations at our Northern Kentucky digital print and distribution center. This role oversees digital web inkjet production, finishing, warehousing, and outbound distribution, ensuring that safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are consistently achieved.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving processes, and using data to drive decisions. This role offers the opportunity to lead a modern facility, support meaningful educational work, and make a visible impact on the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality, Safety & Compliance
· Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental standards.
· Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality expectations.
· Lead investigation and corrective action for quality issues and customer feedback.
· Own quality system requirements, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
· Ensure standard operating procedures are documented, followed, and improved.
Operations & Execution
· Lead daily operations across digital print production, finishing, and shipping functions.
· Develop and execute production and fulfillment schedules aligned to customer commitments and plant capacity.
· Balance throughput, uptime, changeovers, and labor utilization to meet service and cost goals.
· Partner with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and preventive maintenance discipline.
· Prepare the facility to perform effectively during peak educational demand cycles.
Leadership & Team Development
· Lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors and managers.
· Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
· Foster a collaborative, accountable, and respectful work environment.
· Support training, succession planning, and talent development.
· Encourage problem-solving, ownership, and continuous improvement at all levels.
Planning, Metrics & Continuous Improvement
· Establish and maintain a regular operating rhythm using key performance metrics.
· Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, order accuracy, throughput, labor efficiency, and waste.
· Use data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
· Lead initiatives to improve scalability, efficiency, and cost performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, IT, and Finance teams.
· Align customer commitments with operational capabilities.
· Communicate clearly regarding capacity, risks, and recovery plans.
· Represent the facility with internal partners and external stakeholders.
Financial Responsibility
· Manage the plant operating budget and performance against plan.
· Understand key cost drivers and support cost-effective decision making.
· Participate in capacity planning and capital investment discussions.
Requirements:WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required
· 7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, print, or operations.
· Experience leading supervisors and/or managers.
· Strong operational and organizational skills.
· Ability to use data and metrics to manage performance.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
· A leader who communicates clearly and leads by example

Preferred
· Experience with digital print or high-speed production environments.
· Background in educational publishing or regulated industries.
· ISO 9001 or formal quality systems experience.
· Continuous improvement or Lean experience.
· Experience supporting new or growing facilities.
Work Environment:
· On-site leadership role at a modern digital print and distribution facility in Northern Kentucky.
· Production-based environment with seasonal demand cycles.
· Regular presence on the production floor is expected.

This is an on-site role at our plant situated near the Cincinnati airport.
