Main Purpose:

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within the Industrial Fabrication facility, ensuring that production goals are consistently met with a high degree of quality, safety and efficiency.  This individual will be responsible for the supervision and development of a high-performing industrial manufacturing team that is responsible for building generator enclosures.  The Fabrication Supervisor will ensure projects are completed on schedule, meet customer specifications and align with internal quality standards.


Essential Functions:

  • Plan, schedule and coordinate daily activities to meet production targets, project deadlines and customer requirements
  • Oversee machine operation activities including punch presses, brake presses and other industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Ensure equipment is set up and operating effectively for optimal productivity and minimal downtime
  • Monitor workflow and adjust staffing and task assignments as needed to maintain steady production output
  • Supervise manufacturing personnel, including assigning daily duties, training new team members, evaluating performance and providing ongoing coaching
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations, production updates, safety procedures and organizational goals
  • Identify skill gaps and provide training opportunities to strengthen team capabilities
  • Inspect completed work to ensure design specifications, tolerances and quality standards are met
  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of equipment including hydraulic presses, punch presses, automated machinery and industrial manufacturing tools
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for preventative maintenance schedules and equipment repairs
  • Recommend new tooling, equipment upgrades or production methods to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
  • Maintain accurate logs for production output, downtime, defects, material usage and labor hours
  • Assist in developing fabrication plans, job travelers, production documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Work with purchasing and inventory teams to ensure adequate availability of steel, components, tooling and consumables
  • Support budgeting, cost analysis and resource planning as needed
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements:


Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
  • Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
  • Pushing, pulling and reaching
  • Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, industrial manufacturing (metalworking) or a related environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of punch presses, brake presses and other industrial manufacturing equipment
  • Proven leadership experience, managing teams in a production or industrial environment
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and fabrication specifications
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance regulations
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Desirable Experience, Education and Training:

  • Experience supervising fabrication teams in industrial, electrical enclosure, generator enclosure or control systems manufacturing preferred
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, or similar improvement methodologies is a plus
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Tools, Equipment and Technology:

  • Punch presses, brake presses and other industrial manufacturing equipment
  • PPE

Environmental Conditions:

80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud etc.  They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
