QA Report Writer (Technical)
General Summary:
Daily Thermetrics is seeking a QA Inspections-Report Writer to join our rapidly growing quality assurance, and inspection team. This position is responsible for coordinating with the inspection department as a technical writer for NDT reports, QA Inspections, and Test Data tracking. The successful QA Report Writer will ensure inspections, test reliability meet strict compliance with established company QA policy, ISO requirements, client/customer needs, as well as design specifications, and ensure that detailed, thorough inspections are performed to ensure timely production and shipment schedules. Daily job duties include writing technical reports, updating database, data entry, working closely with hands-on shop inspectors, in depth technical understanding of document control, technical reports, proper use of inspection tools/equipment in a manufacturing environment as well as extensive professional communication with engineering, production and shipping teams.

Essential Job Functions
- Technical writing and Document Control for NDT reports, QA Inspections, and Test Data
- Ensure test data is reliable and in strict conformance with job procedures, design specifications, established work instructions
- Coordinating receipt of required inspection/test data by working closely with manufacturing inspectors of raw material, parts, components upon receiving
- Responsible for preparing production status and inspection reports.
- Working knowledge of dimensional and visual inspection of in-process and finished product
- Organize and schedule QA and Inspection Documentation requirements in a timely manner
- Communicate with supervisor, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and helping to resolve machining or quality issues.
- Use personal safety equipment while performing duties

Job Qualifications
- Post High School education or degree
- 1-3 years of previous experience in manufacturing or production environment
- Proven work experience with document control and technical report writing
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel & Word)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or 2D drawing interpretation
- Strong organizational skill, & strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to communicate technical terminology
- Proficient computer skills, accurate data entry skills, updating manufacturing databases
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage efficiently in a busy shop environment
- Enthusiastic team player, Creative thinker, focus on bottom-line results.
Work Conditions
- Position is based at a manufacturing/fabrication, climate-controlled shop environment.
- Interaction with other Inspections employees, as well as engineers, supervisors and third-party inspectors, as needed.
- This is primarily a sedentary position, however, working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery will be required frequently

- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds

This position is considered OFFICE & SHOP/INDOOR WORK
Primarily indoors during the day, occasional work hours in the evening and/or on weekends
Climate-controlled manufacturing facility all year round
Assigned Work Shift:
Monday – Friday, 40+ hours per week; may be assigned to morning or afternoon shift; frequent additional hours in evenings and/or weekends.
