Expectations

The ideal candidate will uphold the highest standards of patient care and be passionate about providing and educating patients on treatment options that support the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

• Adhering to and upholding the highest standards of infection control practices and guidelines, including during instrument processing and operatory turnover

• Conducting medical health history reviews and updates

• Performing baseline and routine assessments, such as full mouth charting, probing, and oral cancer screening

• Taking radiographs (as prescribed by the Dentist) and impressions as required

• Identifying oral conditions and diseases, including gingivitis, caries, and periodontitis

• Creating individualized dental hygiene treatment plans, including preventive care such as scaling, prophy, and fluoride

• Educating patients through oral hygiene instruction, plaque control guidance, and postoperative care

• Maintaining accurate documentation and charting

• Supporting the clinical team by monitoring supplies

• Identifying gaps in the clinical schedule and assisting with patient follow-up, recall scheduling, and outstanding treatment plans

• Collaborating with colleagues during gaps in the schedule, including Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants, Dentists, and Administrative team members

Schedule

• Monday: 5:00pm – 8:00pm

• Tuesday: 5:00pm – 8:00pm

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene

• Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO

• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and requirements

• Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail

• Warm, friendly, and professional personality

• Ethical, respectful, and committed to teamwork
