About the Role:
The CT Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging team by performing computed tomography (CT) scans to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. This position requires the technologist to operate advanced CT equipment with precision and care, ensuring high-quality images while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. The technologist will collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver accurate imaging results that contribute to effective patient care. Additionally, the role involves maintaining detailed patient records, adhering to regulatory standards, and continuously updating technical knowledge to keep pace with evolving imaging technologies. Ultimately, the CT Technologist ensures that each imaging procedure is conducted efficiently, ethically, and with the highest standard of professionalism to support optimal clinical outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with a focus on computed tomography.
- Current certification as a CT Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- Valid state licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the United States.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CT imaging procedures, radiation safety, and patient care standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a hospital or outpatient imaging center setting.
- Additional certifications in advanced imaging modalities or patient care.
- Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
- Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients accurately for CT imaging procedures, explaining the process to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
- Operate CT scanners to capture detailed images of patients’ internal structures, adjusting equipment settings as necessary for optimal image quality.
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and respond promptly to any adverse reactions or emergencies.
- Collaborate with radiologists to review images for clarity and completeness, and assist in identifying any immediate concerns.
- Maintain and calibrate CT equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
- Document patient information, imaging procedures, and observations accurately in electronic health records.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including radiation safety protocols, to protect patients, staff, and self.
- Participate in continuing education and training to stay current with advancements in CT technology and best practices.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential for explaining procedures to patients, alleviating anxiety, and ensuring cooperation during scans. Attention to detail is critical when positioning patients and adjusting scanner settings to produce high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure. Organizational skills support accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements, contributing to seamless workflow and patient safety. Additionally, problem-solving abilities enable the technologist to troubleshoot equipment issues and adapt to varying clinical situations, ensuring consistent delivery of excellent patient care.
