POSITION: Quality Engineer I

LOCATION: Jupiter, FL

STATUS: Salary Exempt 

 

JOB SUMMARY ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Understanding of effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for process related concerns.
  • Assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system.
  • Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system and the Parts Delivery Network
  • Responsible for maintaining Internal Controls and the coordination of all controls for the Parts Delivery Network. 
  • Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved processes
  • Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
  • Conduct internal audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventive actions.
  • Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
  • Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality plans, inspection procedures, APQP, etc.
  • Preparation of QA reports and metrics. 
  • Training, coaching and re-direction of employees and peers as required
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant field 
  • Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix

  • Skills/Experience 

  • 2+ years of experience in a quality environment with understanding of manufacturing terminology and best practices.   
  • Advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing as applied in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements and associated documentation.
  • Proven work history in positions requiring organization, attention to detail, accuracy and multi-tasking, and documentation.
  • Demonstration of advanced competency in both verbal and written communication. 
  • Demonstration of advanced competency in problem solving collaboration.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Professional. 
  • Ability to understand and interpret statistics using minitab, matlab or similar 
  • Ability to travel upon request, with or without advance notice.
