A a Security Officer you'll ensure the safety and security of personnel, students, guests, property, and assets within assigned areas. This role involves patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance equipment, responding to security incidents, and enforcing security protocols to prevent unauthorized access, theft, or vandalism.
What You'll Do
- Report any security concern, safety hazards, or unusual activities to supervisors or appropriate authorities.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems to identify potential security breaches or unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, grounds, and parking lots, to detect and deter security threats or suspicious activities.
- Control access to facilities by verifying credentials and ensuring that only authorized individuals enter restricted areas.
- Monitor entrances and exits, checking for unauthorized persons, and enforcing access control procedures.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, or alarms, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks and maintain safety.
- Investigate security breaches, disturbances, or policy violations, document incidents and prepare incident reports as required.
- Enforce security policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain order and protect personnel, property, and assets.
- Conduct security checks of designated areas, including locking and unlocking doors, securing windows, and inspecting security equipment.
- Provide assistance and information to employees, visitors, and guests, directing them to appropriate locations and addressing their inquiries or concerns.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with individuals and addressing security-related issues.
- Assist in the implementation of emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and crisis management protocols.
- Participate in emergency drills and exercises to ensure readiness and effectiveness in responding to emergencies.
- Complete accurate and detailed incident reports, documenting security incidents, observations, and actions taken.
- Maintain logbooks, records, and documentation of security activities, including patrols, inspections, and incidents.
What We're Looking For
High School diploma or equivalent; advanced education or training in security management, law enforcement, or related field preferred.Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military service preferred.
