Premier Community HealthCare is seeking a Full-Time Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern (RCSWI) to join our Behavioral Health team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to gain supervised clinical experience in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

The Registered Clinical Social Worker intern will provide mental health evaluations and treatments for Premier Community Healthcare patients under the direct supervision of a LCSW qualified supervisor with oversight from our Director of Behavioral Health Services. The intern will perform diagnostic interviews, individual psychotherapy treatment, group therapy/counseling sessions, and crisis intervention services to our uninsured patient population.
Preferred specialties include trauma informed care, child and individual adolescent psychotherapy. Seeking candidates who are looking to provide treatment for all ages.
Program Requirements:
The program is intended to be two years in length (minimum of one hour supervision every week) or to complete the interns remaining clinical hours needed for licensure. After the 2 years, the Intern will be expected to obtain licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. If the intern remains in good standing and demonstrates high quality care, they may be offered the opportunity to join Premier Community HealthCare as a full-time LCSW. The intern will be evaluated throughout the duration of the program to ensure standards are being met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide treatment by evidence based therapeutic interventions.
- Assist in the detection of “at risk” patients and development of plans to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration.
- Provide comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health clients.
- Provide effective treatment planning and assisting clients in successfully achieving goals.
- Evaluate crisis situations and apply appropriate interventions.
- Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve self-management of medical and psychiatric chronic disease.
- Provide assessment, diagnosis according to DSM-V consultation, interventions for psychological/psychiatric problems and/or disorders.
- Comply with PCHG requirements for documentation completion and closure timeframes
- Actively participate in meetings that support PCHG initiatives.
- Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
- Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.
- Contribute to community give back initiatives and be an advocate for Premier’s mission

- Work towards attaining department goals and adhere to Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to handle client needs with passion and care
- Knowledge and competency of diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of behavioral health services
- Must have the ability to provide therapy as an Independent Contractor.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Ability to apply evidenced-based mental health counseling methods and techniques
- Knowledge of community mental health resources
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical social work and mental health counseling principles, procedures, and standards
- Working knowledge of DSM V and ICD-10 manual.
- Ability to evaluate the progress of therapeutic interventions and to make individualized modification
- Ability to work independently, as well as, to develop collaborative relations with physicians, families, patients, interdisciplinary team and other community agencies
- Bilingual preference

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Master’s Degree in Social Work from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
- Current ISW license in Florida.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Preferred experience in counseling setting.
- Psychotherapy experience minimum of 1 year.
- Obtain and maintain Epic certification/ annual compliance throughout employment.
