Mercy Flights is Hiring a Temporary Opportunity: Accounting Specialist (Accounts Payable Focus)

The Finance Department is offering a temporary opportunity for an Accounting Specialist to support essential accounting functions, with a strong emphasis on accounts payable.

This position will assist with invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, and timely payments, as well as supporting related duties in payroll, reconciliations, and deposits.

🔹 Position Details:

Status: Temporary (up to 3 months with a possibility to extend)
Schedule: Full-time preferred (Monday–Friday, up to 40 hours/week, between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Department: Finance

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

Lead the accounts payable process: reconcile vendor statements, accurately code and enter invoices, and process payments
Manage employee credit cards and expense reports
Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure alignment with the billing system
Process deposits and maintain petty cash
Assist with payroll support, financial reconciliations, and documentation for audits

🔹 Required Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or finance roles
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and payroll records
Team-oriented with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
