Summary:

As the Prototype and Rework Technician, you read schematics and cable drawings to construct engineering prototypes and implement circuit changes. You manufacture cables and wiring harnesses to support engineering development and production test fixtures and systems within a high-reliability electronics manufacturing environment at North Atlantic Industries.

Requirements:
  • Solder components and jumper wires for prototyping while using a microscope.
  • Build Mil-Spec cables, cable harnesses, and test fixtures to support engineering development and production testing.
  • Implement engineering design changes on products as directed by the Engineering Department.
  • Layout prototype design changes to comply with IPC standards.
  • Assemble circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and ruggedized electronic chassis.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. Person, defined as either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), and must be able to provide appropriate documentation upon hire to verify this status. Please note that some positions involve sensitive customer contracts and require U.S. citizenship as a condition of employment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Surface mount micro-soldering experience required.
  • Technical school education or equivalent on-the-job training in a manufacturing test or engineering laboratory environment.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant electronics manufacturing experience.
  • Good mechanical skills with the ability to build fixtures and use hand and limited power tools.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • IPC J-STD-001 certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and edit CAD drawings and electronic circuit schematics.
