About this position
Northern Berkshire Pediatrics, a trusted provider of pediatric care in the community, is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Human Resources Generalist to support and manage a wide range of HR functions. This part-time hourly position (24 hours per week) will be responsible for key areas including employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and payroll coordination. Practice may consider full-time (32 hour) position depending on candidate needs and skills.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage job postings, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and support hiring processes.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding, including HRIS setup, materials, and exit procedures.
Employee Relations & Performance
- Serve as a resource for employee concerns and workplace issues.
- Support performance management, disciplinary processes, and annual evaluations.
Compliance & Policy
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR regulations.
- Maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and support audit preparation.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Administer employee benefits and manage leave tracking (PTO, PFML, ADA, etc.).
- Handle benefits audits and respond to insurance and state leave requests.
Payroll & HR Systems
- Process biweekly payroll and track deductions.
- Maintain accurate HRIS and payroll records; organize payroll reports.
Employee Engagement
- Support employee recognition, wellness initiatives, and team celebrations.
General Business Support
- May assist with finance-related tasks, which may include light accounting or QuickBooks work.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of HR generalist experience preferred.
- Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred).
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort working with spreadsheets and reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
- Experience in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks or basic accounting tasks.
