The Role

We are seeking a polished and professional Fine Dining Catering Server to deliver an exceptional guest experience at upscale private events, galas, and corporate functions. This role requires precision, poise, and a strong understanding of high-end food and beverage service. The Catering Server is responsible for the elegant and efficient delivery of food and beverage offerings while maintaining the elevated service standards expected in a fine dining environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set tables meticulously according to fine dining and event-specific specifications, ensuring correct placement of service ware, glassware, and linens.
  • Deliver service equipment, supplies, and beverages from storage areas to the event location with care and efficiency.
  • Prepare and elegantly present buffet tables, food stations, or plated service in alignment with the event's theme and style.
  • Serve food and beverages with precision, using formal serving techniques such as synchronized service, plated drops, and tray service.
  • Maintain an attentive yet unobtrusive presence, ensuring guests' needs are anticipated and met with discretion.
  • Clear tables quietly and efficiently, removing used dishes, glassware, and cutlery with minimal disruption to the guest experience.
  • Transport soiled items to designated dishwashing stations promptly and hygienically.
  • Return unused beverages, clean equipment, and soiled linens to their proper storage areas in a neat and organized fashion.
  • Maintain a pristine and organized workspace throughout the event.
  • Polish silverware, glassware, and equipment to ensure flawless presentation.
  • Maintain clean and orderly catering storage and prep areas.
  • Attend mandatory event meetings and briefings to ensure alignment with service standards and event expectations.
  • Complete all assigned side work diligently and efficiently.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations through routine cleaning and sanitization.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors and event captains to support overall event success.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a fine dining or upscale catering environment.
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have for be able to obtain TABC license and Food Handlers certification.
  • Proficient in plated service, cocktail service, and buffet execution.
  • Strong knowledge of formal table settings, menu items, wine pairing, and service etiquette.
  • Impeccable grooming, personal hygiene, and adherence to uniform standards.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to follow detailed instructions from supervisors and event captains.
  • Able to fluently speak, read, and write in English to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Physically capable of continuous standing, walking, bending, and lifting for the duration of your shift.
  • Physically capable of transporting up to 50 lbs and carrying beverage trays over distances.
