SUMMARY:  The staff accountant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the financial records of the organization assigned.   This includes entity accounting, cost accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, and assisting with the budgeting and forecasting.

 

  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform general accounting and cost accounting duties for assigned organization
  • Support the month-end close process by booking all required entries in compliance with GAAP
  • Develop and maintain financial and non-financial KPIs 
  • Ensure that all prepaids, fixed assets and accruals are booked properly and reconciled during the close process
  • Ensures all financial reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner
  • Conduct variance analysis and support budget and forecast processes
  • Provides management with timely reviews of the organization’s financial status and progress.
  • Code invoices, set up new accounts as necessary & verify and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
  • Reconcile bank accounts on a weekly basis
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
  • Assists with company strategic planning
  • Assists with special projects as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management
  • Lead in month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
  • Support the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transaction recording.
  • Manage sales tax filings, commission calculations
  • Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) In Accounting, Economics or Finance
  • Two to Four experience in a hands-on accounting role
  • Experience in Manufacturing Accounting/Cost Accounting a plus
  • Working knowledge of forecasting and financial modeling
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and delegate effectively

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel Query, SumIfs, Pivot Tables and Modeling
