Job Description:
Plaster Room: Clean and store unused cottle boards, clamps, saws, shims, and other communal tools. Wipe down all surfaces with a sponge and microfiber cloth. Organize the area next to the sink. Remove waste bags of plaster. Wet mop the floor, sweep with compound first if needed.
Clay room: Wipe down all surfaces with a sponge and microfiber cloth. Wet mop the floor, sweeping with compound first if needed.
Glaze room: Perform custodial duties to keep the glaze room clean and organized, with attention to the floors, work surfaces, shelves, and sinks. Mix shop glazes as needed. Sink—clean and properly store glaze buckets not in use. Clean other items left in the sink, and return them to their proper place. Wash the sink. Work surfaces and shelves: discard items that are obviously trash and wipe down surfaces with a wet sponge, then wipe with a microfiber cloth
Present demonstrations and discussions for informational sessions in the ceramics department.
Assist with the preparation of the studio space for the semester.
Qualifications/Skills Needed:
Good communication skills.
Ability to follow directions, sometimes working without direct supervision.
Students must be organized, punctual, dependable, and willing to perform physical labor for custodial duties.
Willingness to clean.
