The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting a broad range of human resources functions and serves as a primary resource to employees across the organization. This position requires a high degree of initiative, discretion, and independent judgment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns, promoting a positive and professional HR presence, and promptly escalate sensitive or complex issues to the appropriate HR leader or department for further review.
- Administer and manage all aspects of the FMLA process, including eligibility tracking, leave coordination, documentation and communication, and return-to-work procedures in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Oversee Workers' Compensation claims from incident reporting through case closure, working with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to ensure timely and accurate case management.
- Manage the full-cycle temp-to-hire process, including agency relationships, onboarding coordination, conversion tracking, and issue resolution.
- Lead recruitment efforts for direct hire roles, including job postings, screening, scheduling interviews, and coordinating offers in partnership with hiring managers.
- Lead the new hire onboarding process, including pre-employment screenings, communication with internal partners, and completion of new hire paperwork, to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.
- Manage benefits administration, including day-to-day employee support, open enrollment planning and execution, and ongoing benefits education and communication. Ensure accurate enrollments, changes, and terminations in all benefits systems, and serve as a liaison between employees and benefit providers.
- Support and implement employee engagement initiatives that promote a positive work culture, improve retention, and strengthen team morale.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve the employee experience.
- Provide data and insights through HRIS reporting and tracking metrics for key HR functions.

Recommended Education and/or Experience:
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience; prior experience in manufacturing or similar industry preferred.
- Solid understanding of FMLA, Workers' Compensation, and other applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- High level of discretion and integrity when handling confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems (e.g., ADP, 15Five, Cornerstone, etc.).
