About this position
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Industrial Services Advisor who is a strategic business, industry, and technical leader responsible for business model validation and development, capital project oversight, client relationship management, business development and growth support, organizational leadership, and general consulting across industrial and infrastructure projects. This role blends industrial process engineering expertise with executive level experience, commercial awareness, and talent development to deliver high-value outcomes across complex business and project initiatives.
Requirements:• Lead process to validate and update current business model and review activities to ensure compliance, operational readiness (O/R), and operational excellence (O/E).
• Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for complex industrial process engineering and owner’s representation projects, systems, and strategic initiatives.
• Drive consulting and advisory services value to clients for industrial projects and clients to optimize cost, schedule, constructibility, and long-term performance.
• Support long-term strategic planning and development of industrial and infrastructure business, clients, and projects.
• Evaluate and define optimal delivery models, including outsourced (O/S) staff strategies, staff augmentation strategies and structures, and technical service offerings.
• Review capabilities, lead strategic development, and support implementation of enhancements to platform for technology selection assessments, feasibility studies, and conceptual design evaluations.
• Review capabilities, lead strategic development, and support implementation of any enhancements to platform for capital cost estimates, financial models, and project execution strategies.
• Review capabilities, lead strategic development, and support implementation of any enhancements of platform to manage project schedules, execution plans, and performance metrics.
• Review capabilities, lead strategic development, and support implementation of any enhancements to platform for construction management (CM) and construction oversight and coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
• Identify and support acquisitions of appropriate subject matter and technical experts and other sources of talent to support any business model enhancements and project implementation and successes.
• Review capabilities, lead strategic development, and support implementation of any enhancements to platform to provide services for full lifecycle capital projects from concept through commissioning and startup.
• Review and advise on budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Provide reviews and oversight to ensure alignment between technical execution, financial performance, and strategic objectives.
• Support business development initiatives by contributing technical insight to proposals, solution development, and client engagement and managements strategies.
• Support engagement with private equity firms, infrastructure funds, and other project developers and owners that lack the necessary internal development or capital project teams.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities in emerging industries and new market sectors.
• Strengthen client relationships through relationship management, technical credibility, strategic insight, and execution strategies and tactics.
• Serve as a business development, technical and organizational leader within the engineering team.
• Mentor engineers and project professionals to support career growth and capability development.
• Support recruiting efforts and participate in salary validation and market benchmarking.
• Help ensure the right people are placed in the right roles to better leverage organizational capabilities, maximize performance, and ensure project success.
• Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high-performance execution.
Required Competencies:
• Strong industry experience (particularly refining, petrochemical, specialty chemical, renewable fuels, and similar sectors) and financial and business acumen.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and team development experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Process Engineering (PE preferred).
• 15+ years of experience in industrial process engineering and capital project execution, with 10+ in executive leadership positions.
