A Lot About You
We are seeking an IT Administrator to join our team. The position will be based in Seymour, IN. The IT Administrator will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the agency's network and systems infrastructure. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing network, system, and application systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance. This role requires a deep understanding of networking technologies, systems, servers, group policies, and strong problem-solving skills. You won’t just be the “person in the server room”. You’ll be the heartbeat of our technical operations, ensuring that both our front office and the manufacturing floor stay connected, efficient, and secure. Technical Support & Systems Administration
- Provide rapid on-site and remote support for hardware, software, workstation, printing, and equipment connectivity issues.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Azure), including security policies and configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues; recommend upgrades or replacements when needed.
- Install and configure operating systems, applications, and end-user devices; maintain hardware/software inventory.
Network & Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain wired and wireless LAN infrastructure, including switches, access points, and cabling.
- Configure and monitor VPN access to ensure secure, reliable remote connectivity.
- Administer Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), including updates, monitoring, backups, and recovery.
- Document network architecture and maintain accurate configuration records.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Maintain network and data security through firewall management, patching, security protocol updates, and threat monitoring.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities, or unusual network activity.
- Support cybersecurity best practices, employee training, and enforcement of security policies.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for critical systems and data.
Asset, License & Vendor Management
- Track company hardware assets, software licenses, renewals, and compliance.
- Lead purchasing, lifecycle management, and deployment of IT equipment.
- Serve as primary point of contact for external vendors (ISP, security systems, hardware/software providers).
- Provide regular reporting on system performance, uptime, and open issues.
Employee Lifecycle Support
- Onboarding: Create accounts, provision devices, configure access, and prepare new employees for Day 1.
- Training: Provide basic IT training and user-friendly documentation (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, VPN, etc.).
- Offboarding: Securely disable accounts, recover equipment, and manage data retention.
Qualifications
Education
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Administration, or related field.
- Alternative: Associate degree + relevant experience/certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, MCSA).
Experience
- 3–7 years general IT experience, with 2–5 years in network/server administration.
- Experience with Cisco/Meraki network equipment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and security protocols.
- Experience in manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
Certifications (Strongly Valued)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Microsoft 365 Certified or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator
- Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst, etc.)
