Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients, assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience in various healthcare settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Provide support in mobility and transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Assist with medical procedures under the supervision of nursing staff.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and concerns.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Support patients with special needs, including those with developmental disabilities or dementia.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Nursing Assistant is preferred.
  • Experience in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Point Click Care) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques.
  • Previous experience in critical care, acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, or hospice care is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to perform tasks related to medication administration and catheter care when required.
  • Understanding of infection control practices and aseptic technique.
