About this position
Function creates 3D computer drawings of parts, weldments, and assemblies used for manufacturing (shop drawings), master data (product and purchased part drawings) installation and maintenance. Some cross-training to create 2D submittal (sales & client) sets in AutoCAD will also be a function of the position.
Essential Accountabilities:
• Accurate and complete library drawings created, and revisions maintained for every single product number, manufactured, and purchased part number.
• Creation of accurate shop drawings with adequate detail to aid the manufacturing process, including a material list.
• Meets deadlines no matter what and keeps manager informed of known risks.
• Brings to the attention of manager any recognized anomalies/variances from specification and/or customer order.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Agrees with the direct-line manager on daily, weekly and project-related tasks assigned and delivered on time, accurately and within agreed timelines.
• Prepares sketches, modifies drawings as needed, and prepares final drawings for projects.
• Interacts with the internal teams (Sales, PM’s, Production, and Quality) to ensure timely and quality delivery of finished product.
• Reviews drawings for colleagues as part of the peer review system.
• Identifies and verifies specifications.
• Resolves any discrepancies within the drawings and makes necessary revisions.
• All other duties and projects as assigned.
Key performance parameters:
• Deadline for Project Delivery (Daily, Weekly, SLA)
• Quality >99%. No mistakes passed down the road.
• Customer (internal and external) feedback & review.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to apply internal and industry specific drafting standards with the specifications of the designs assigned.
• PC computer skills: SolidWorks (incl. 3D modeling, design tables, drafts, and PDM), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Sharepoint, Teams).
• Ability to maintain accuracy while meeting tight timelines.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Mechanical Aptitude, particularly with understanding of measurements
• Keen attention to detail
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required, sometimes on short notice.
Education/Experience:
• 1HS diploma or GED
• Some level of college education and/or coursework is preferred.
• 1 or more years of employment experience, demonstrating a superior work ethic and minimum of 2 years of experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD software.
