Role Description:

The Estimator plays a key role in the success of GGS by preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for greenhouse and greenhouse-related projects. This role supports the sales and project management teams by ensuring project budgets are aligned with client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to prepare accurate material and labor estimates.
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand client needs and deliver competitive quotations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure estimates reflect the most current designs, materials, and construction methods.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GGS product offerings and industry standards.
  • Prepare and deliver formal quote packages to sales representatives.
  • Support project handover to project management after successful award of contract.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of estimating tools, databases, and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Strong math skills and a high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with ERP/CRM systems a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of greenhouse structures or controlled environment agriculture is an asset.
