Job Description:
The Fertilizer Technician is responsible for the application of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining healthy soil, plants, turf, and crops through correct chemical usage and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides to lawns, landscapes, or crops.
Calibrate and operate spreaders, sprayers, and other fertilization equipment.
Identify nutrient deficiencies, pests, or weed issues and recommend appropriate treatments.
Monitor soil and plant health, keeping detailed application records.
Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Maintain equipment and keep workspaces clean and organized.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and clients (if applicable).
Stay current on chemical handling procedures and certification requirements.
Other related duties and tasks
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Valid Quebec Driver license with a good driver record
Experience in landscaping, agriculture, or turf management is a plus.
Prior chemical application experience is a definite asset.
Pesticide or Fertilizer Applicator’s License (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
Good observation and problem-solving skills.
Physical ability to lift up to 27 kg and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and documentation.
Work Environment:
Mostly outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Exposure to chemicals (with proper PPE).
Start as early as 5 AM or before depending on weather conditions and demand
