Compass is a third-party administrator (TPA) that provides client companies with retirement plan design, administration, actuarial services, and ongoing consulting services to ensure our clients' plans are in compliance with DOL, ERISA, IRS, and other regulations. What You Will Do
Assist Controller with Human Resources and Payroll related tasks including: processing bi-weekly payroll and keeping HRIS, Applicant Tracking, Benefits Enrollment Portal, and other platforms updated. The position will also assist with the onboarding process, employee recognition and appreciation programs, event planning, and other tasks.
This is a part-time position, 15-20 hours per week expected with the ability to process bi-weekly payroll on Monday or Tuesday. Candidates must be available to work at least 3 days/week. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll using Paylocity.
- Maintain accurate data in Payloicty modules by processing pay rate changes, forwarding multi-state tax rate changes, uploading offer letters, and updating other information.
- Schedule monthly performance reviews and launch reviews and feedback forms in Paylocity's Performance Management module.
- Track and send monthly staff birthday and anniversary cards.
- Keep shared Outlook PTO calendar updated from requests entered and revised in Paylocity.
- Assist with hiring and onboarding tasks including creating offer letters from templates; sending for signatures, launching background checks, and other onboarding tasks to ensure smooth onboarding process.
- Assist with employee recognition programs by ordering gifts and other items.
- Assist with making changes to Job Descriptions from approved templates and Salary Ranges in Paylocity Compensation Module.
- Add and remove employees' access to record keeper sights.
- Enroll employees in certification classes and track history according to policy.
- Perform monthly audits on group health, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance invoices to ensure corresponding deductions are correct.
- Working with Paylocity, add and setup new states' withholding and unemployment accounts as necessary.
- Assist with updating and auditing payroll deductions during the annual open enrollment period.

Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities/Certifications:
- Ability to use Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, or other similar payroll and HRIS platforms. Prior experience with Paylocity highly desirable.
- A high degree of confidentiality is required.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Products including SharePoint.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to create pivot tables is required and use VLookup functions are required.
- Knowledge and experience processing multi-state payroll helpful.
