Application Analyst Summary of Duties
This role is the first point of contact for software application support within the company and is responsible for the initial assessment, categorization, and routing of support tickets to ensure compliance with quality standards and efficient resolution of issues.
Application Analyst Essential Job Functions
- Receives and assesses incoming support tickets to determine the nature and complexity of issues
- Routes complex tickets to specialized analysts based on issue type and urgency, ensuring a streamlined resolution process
- Maintains a log of all received tickets and actions taken for continuous improvement and reporting purposes
- Collaborates with the quality assurance and development teams
- Performs initial troubleshooting and provides basic support and guidance to users where applicable
- Monitors and reports on ticket resolution progress to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs)
- Participates in regular training sessions to stay updated on new application functionality
- A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field of study from an accredited college or university or successful completion of a recognized Technology certification is preferred
- Previous experience in a quality assurance or IT support role within the healthcare field is preferred

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with both technical staff and non-technical users
- Proficiency in medical billing processes relevant to the healthcare cost containment industry
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Experience with ticketing systems and basic troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge and understanding of application development best practices
