About this position
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Landman to manage all aspects of land work within a designated region. This dynamic role requires expertise in lease and joint operating agreement (JOA) interpretation, AFE preparation and distribution, acquisition due diligence, and title research.
As an integral part of a collaborative, results-driven team, the Urban Landman will work closely with colleagues across operations, exploitation, and accounting to ensure seamless execution of land-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of land practices, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Research and Analyze Land Title Records to confirm ownership and leasing status
- Maintain lease records, maps and databases using land software (iLandman)
- Work with internal stakeholders to support daily operations and to clear title for drilling, workover, or recompletion activities
- Prepare and review contracts, rights-of-way, surface agreements and other related documents
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies
- Serve as a liaison between the company and landowners, addressing concerns and building relationships
- Negotiate oil and gas leases , mineral rights agreements, and surface use agreements with landowners
- Support in Acquisition and Divestitures through due diligence, drafting exhibits, and confirmation of title
- Assist in paying lease obligations on a monthly basis
Education, Qualifications, and Experience
· Bachelors degree
· 5 to 10 years of experience as a landman, preferably with a production or exploration company
· Strong knowledge of title research, leasing and mineral rights
· Proficient in land software and mapping tools
· Excellent negotiation, communication and organizational skills
· Exposure to land work in multiple states
