JOB OVERVIEW 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our oral surgery team. As part of a collaborative surgical team, the LPN/LVN will assist in surgeries, patient preparation, documentation, and post-operative care. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist surgeons during oral surgery procedures, including starting intravenous (IV) lines and ensuring all necessary equipment is available.
  • Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout surgeries to ensure patient safety.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and discharge, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
  • Verify patient identity and operative sites to confirm procedural accuracy.
  • Discuss the nature of the surgical procedure with the surgeon, including operative consent, patient-advanced directives, and other needs.
  • Monitor patient’s intra-operative and post-operative status and report any concerns.
  • Obtain dental radiographs and digital imaging as needed.
  • Complete patient clinical narratives accurately and promptly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the surgeon or practice management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
  • Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing required. 
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a medical or surgical setting.
  • Current BLS certification or ability to complete within one month of hire.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • At least one year of experience in oral surgery, dental surgery, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with dental radiographs and imaging techniques.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to support patient care and team coordination
