Active Minerals International (AMI) is a worldwide leader in specialty industrial minerals. The company specializes in the production and marketing of high purity kaolin and gel quality attapulgite clay minerals for fiberglass, concrete, plaster, paints, rubber and agriculture industries.
This position is responsible for the upkeep of the Preventive Maintenance Program in SL10. This position will process all purchases at the plant, including maintenance, into the SL10 system and also check all incoming shipments for accuracy. Inventory control of plant purchased items will also be a part of this position.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance work orders in the SL10 system.
- Track work orders in SL10.
- Print and/or send work orders to the respective maintenance department(s).
- Record and track work orders for unscheduled maintenance and down time including preparing reports and data from such work orders.
- Actively participate in discussions of changes to maintenance schedules.
- Track inventory usage due to maintenance and office activities and submit requisitions to assure sufficient quantities are kept on hand for facility needs.
- Receive and process plant specific purchases from requisition to receipt in SL10 system.
- Count, sort, or weigh incoming goods to verify receipt of items against shipping notice.
- Record and check quantity and quality of goods received for conformity to purchase orders and specifications.
- Complete Corrective Action Preventive Actions (CAPAs) if needed.
- Communicate and coordinate returns, rejections and credits with vendors. Submit documentation and notification to accounts payable and in INFOR system.
- Input receipts and stock items into SL10.
- Complete weekly physical inventory count of maintenance products. Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock. Investigate and report reasons for discrepancy errors in computation of count. Enter usage into SL10 system.
- Complete monthly inventory reconciliation for accounting and enter into SL10.
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- Two-year technical degree or related experience preferred.
- Experience in preventive maintenance programs, inventory management, materials control procedures, and the purchasing of maintenance- and office-related supplies, parts, and tooling.
- Strong moral and ethical standards.
- Proficient on computers and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational and planning skills necessary to be successful.
- Respirator Fit Test is required at hire; no facial hair can interfere with the seal of the respirator during pre-hire and annual fit test screening.
Working Conditions/Environment:
Work is performed in a production environment. Position requires lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 55 lbs. on a regular basis. Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop and climb up to 70 feet. Able to operate hand and foot controls simultaneously. Manual dexterity required for operation of hand controls and/or computer keyboard. Good vision and hearing are also required.
