Are you a math professional with tutoring or academic coaching experience? Are you interested in growing in a teaching or educator role? Do you love math and want to support students in growing their understanding of math?

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is looking for a Math Interventionist. An Interventionist collaborates with math teachers to plan appropriate push-in intervention support within the regular classroom setting, supports the classroom teachers with data collection to measure the effectiveness of the interventions, plans and provides small-group or individualized intervention, meets with team members weekly to analyze student data and plans next steps for intervention, and is an active and self-directed thought partner that assists struggling students in their first two years of high school. In order to best support our students and families, additional language skills in Spanish are highly preferred.

This is a full-time, 10-month position that works from early August through mid-June; this position is paid through a Minneapolis Public Schools vendor but is placed at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. This position does not have hybrid or remote work available; applicant must be available to work in the city of Minneapolis.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Direct Academic Intervention

  • Implement Tier 2 and 3 academic interventions for identified students experiencing learning loss.
  • Administer high-quality, reliable assessments as needed to assess students’ academic progress.
  • Collaborate with Academic and Corporate Work Study teams to teach strategies that build students’ positive habits and Executive Function skills.
  • Provide information and supports to families regarding students’ academic progress.
  • Attend appropriate grade-team and department team meetings. 
  • Have a desire for continuous learning about MTSS and best practice in intervention. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major, minor, or comparable credential of content expertise in Math, Physics, or Math Education.
  • Minimum of 2 years successful high school or middle school teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Knowledge of best practices in secondary education and competency in designing and implementing curricula to serve a heterogeneous student population diverse in culture, religion, and ability.
  • Ability to connect with culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families.
  • Commitment to the mission of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.
  • Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate, and cultivate a loving, joyful school culture.
  • Complete Virtus training, sign a Code of Conduct, and pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • State of Minnesota teacher’s license.
  • Multilingual skills; Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in data management and analysis. Familiarity or willingness to learn PowerSchool, Excel, Google sheets, and other technology tools.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Support Services (MTSS).

Salary Information

$47725.0 - $57630.0 Annual Salary
