About this position
Our Millwright reports to the Facility Engineer or Maintenance Manager. The person in this position will support our flour mill by utilizing the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain smooth operations while specializing in facility and machine fabrication. This person will be knowledgeable in the areas of metal fabrication including sheet metal, multiple methods of welding, support and frame fabrication and use of design and measuring tools. The work schedule will be Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm. Some weekend work may be required.
MILLWRIGHT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repair, patch or replace processing equipment or spouting.
- Participate in mechanical repairs of equipment in all areas of the facility.
- Execute planned maintenance activities throughout the facility.
- Proficient in all areas of the building and production processes.
- Participates in process improvement activities or projects.
- May coach less experienced team members.
- Adheres to safety guidelines.
- Utilize CMMS system and work order assignments.
- Record quality measurements into the system to ensure good quality.
- Welding (MIG, TIG, and Spot).
- Update order status using the order tracking system.
- Select and apply proper tooling for the specific manufacturing processes you may be working with.
- Work with vendors in supplies and materials ordering
MILLWRIGHT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Generally, 3-5+ years' experience in area of responsibility
- 2 years maintenance experience out of a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate lifts, elevated work equipment and forklifts.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience.
- Predictive maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience in an agriculture industry, flour, or feed milling environment preferred.
- Lean manufacturing experience, a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- May require technical certification of associate degree.
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Ability to calculate maximum and minimum dimensions using the tolerance for those dimensions.
- Experience or knowledge about sheet metal fabrication equipment like punching machines, laser cutting machines, bending machines (press brakes), fastener insertion machines, spotwelding, MIG/TIG welding, sanding, grinding, powder coat or liquid painting, digital calipers for measuring the dimensions of parts, protractors for measuring angles, etc.
- Ability to read blueprints for sheet metal parts.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity and ability to collaborate with others.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
- Bilingual in Spanish, a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- This position requires physical efforts such as straining, pulling, lifting, working, and standing and walking on concrete floor.
- Exposure to elements such as noise, minable dust, cold and hot temperatures.
- Extreme climate or climate variation.
- Heat up to 100 degrees and low to 40 degrees.
- Changes of >30 degrees within a shift.
- Exposure to manufacturing equipment hazards, especially forklifts.
- Climbing of ladders.
- Rotating and oscillating equipment.
