Position: Part-Time Gallery Retail Clerk


About the role:

Richeson School of Art & Gallery seeks a friendly, hardworking and organized professional to join our team. This customer facing role will have be immersed in the wonderful world of art through artist engagement, community outreach and hands on art materials experiences. As the first point of contact for gallery guests, you will be an asset to ensuring visitors have a positive experience. Responsibilities include assisting with managing day-to-day operations of the retail store and gallery, assisting with exhibit changeovers, special projects, events and workshops/classes.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide customer support by answering inquiries and assisting with purchases.
  • Ensure the retail space remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Support artwork exhibitions, including receiving and installing artwork.
  • Coordinate classes and workshops by managing registrations (in-person and online) and preparing the studio for events.
  • Assist with staffing and execution of gallery events.


What you need:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Customer Service Role
  • Experience using art materials is a plus, but is not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programs and Point of Sale Systems
  • Friendly, engaging, and professional demeanor
  • Desire to learn, seek new challenges and to take on additional responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Must be resourceful and initiative-taking
  • Must be thorough with a strong sense of attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends
