About this position

  • Position Hours: M-F 8am-5pm


    1. Patient Check-In:
      • Greet patients as they arrive and assist with the check-in process.
      • Collect and verify patient demographic information, including name, address, contact details, and emergency contacts.
    2. Insurance Verification:
      • Obtain and verify insurance information, including policy numbers, group numbers, and coverage details.
      • Confirm insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements for services.
    3. Medical History and Consent:
      • Assist patients in completing medical history forms and consent documents.
      • Review and clarify information provided by patients to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    4. Appointment Scheduling:
      • Coordinate patient appointments, verify scheduled services, and confirm appointment details.
      • Assist with rescheduling and cancellations as needed.
    5. Financial Responsibility:
      • Inform patients of financial responsibilities, including copayments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket costs.
      • Collect copayments and outstanding balances, and process payments accurately.
    6. Privacy and Compliance:
      • Ensure compliance with patient privacy regulations (HIPAA) by safeguarding confidential information and maintaining patient confidentiality.
      • Obtain required patient signatures on consent forms and HIPAA-related documents.
    7. Problem Solving:
      • Address patient concerns, answer inquiries, and resolve issues related to registration, insurance, and scheduling.
      • Escalate complex issues or disputes to the appropriate supervisor or department.
    8. Communication and Teamwork:
      • Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, administrative staff, and billing personnel to coordinate patient care and ensure accurate billing.
    9. Record Keeping:
      • Accurately input patient information into electronic health record (EHR) systems and maintain organized records of patient interactions.

    11. Identify opportunities for process improvement and provide feedback to enhance the patient registration process.


  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require post-secondary education or relevant certifications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in collecting and entering patient information.
  • Customer service-oriented approach and the ability to handle interactions with empathy and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance verification, and appointment scheduling.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software.
  • Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of patient interactions.
  • Knowledge of privacy and compliance regulations, including HIPAA.

Salary Information

$18.0 - $20.0 Hourly Wage
